I Lost on Jeopardy!

Currently, there’s a reigning champion on Jeopardy! who has won 18 in a row and amassed winnings of over $600,000. A change in the rules has dispensed with the previous five-win limit for champions, allowing a contestant to keep on playing if he keeps on winning.

Here’s the update from the Jeopardy! website:

On the June 25th edition of JEOPARDY!, Ken Jennings wrapped up his 4th consecutive week on the show. During his 18th appearance, he collected $48,801, which was the closest Ken has come to challenging the all time one day winnings record of $52,000 set in season 19 by Brian Weikle, of Minneapolis, MN. Ken’s cumulative total is an impressive $601,760!

I am so envious. I auditioned for Jeopardy three years ago, but I didn’t get on. The initial screening was just a ten-question written test, which meant there was a lot of randomness to the screening process.

Yes, I’m a bit bitter about that.
