Redesign Basically in Place

As you can see, I have put up the new template for my site. This one promises to approach the least user friendly design to date, with the exception of the one that looked like the map of Sacramento. I even made the cursor stop reacting to links and such, further hindering the ability of others to use this site. There is an iFrame to make direct linking more problematic, as well as causing trouble for searching and indexing.

All in all it pays little attention to the ways things ought to be done, just as I do in my real life. Still I like the look and structure quite a bit, and I like how I can sensibly add content in the form of directories to the site. If I was smart I would have the script fo all of this automatically, but as it is most of the links and folders are added manually. The new posts and archives are generated dynamically, as are the pictures in the photos folder (from flickr) and the files in the graphics folder from a folder on my site. The good thing about all of this, as user unfriendly as it s, is that it is pretty easy to understand for anybody coming across it, not that a normal blog wouldn’t be easy to understand.

What do you think?

I like it — the phallic shadows are a little over the top — but maybe it’s just me.

Ummmm….it’s a nightmare. Very difficult to see if there is a new post. It also feels very PC…very Windows….Vista. I’m basically having an allergic reaction to it.

    But I love you!

How would you rate it in comparison with the film “Across the Universe”?

You can smell the brutality in the air.

Very Brutal. I hate all of you.
