Garfield is perhaps the worst comic that the Washington Post carries (others in the running are Beetle Bailey, Hagar the Horrible, and Prickly City). I find it hard to believe that Garfield was so popular when we were in elementary school... is it just humor that appeals to the 8-year old set, or has it really just gone downhill?

The Family Circus suffered a similar quality crash in the 90s, but I believe it&#039;s gone through a renaissance of sorts in the past few years. Perhaps the elimination of Garfield from Garfield could spark a similar renaissance of that strip.</description>
