Media Meditation

I have caught the first two episodes of Freakshow on Comedy Central. In general it is not very good, but there are brief moments where I have hopes for the future. Davis Cross is a funny guy, and we all know what I think of Jon Benjamin. There are some really funny parts, usually to do with characters other than the main characters. I’ll keep an eye on it.

Did you catch Gloria Steinem and Jane Fonda on the Colbert Report the other night? That shit was straight goofy. It seemed to go along perfectly with the unusually odd appearance on the Daily Show by David Cross.

In other networks, I saw one of the episodes of the new Discovery Atlas shows on the Discovery channel. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It had little stories about a few different people in different parts of China and talked about theiur life and such. They were different economically and all that, so they go a couple of different perspectives. It is good, and makes me interested in catching other episodes. One advantage is that is takes some time to tell the stories, and doesn’t try and jam too much in at once.

In addition to watching Studio 60 which is good, I am watching Heroes, which is not good. Pretty bad writing and all that, but it falls into a slot where I am just lazy enough to watch it.

I have been updating My Movies blog with Netflix views and all that, and I invite you to check it out, if you have nothing better to do.

Wife has left her old job and starts the new one today, so good luck to her.

Dude, that wasn’t David Cross on The Daily Show. That was definitely Rex. Who knew that TV makes your voice sound like David Cross?

I see that Wife is working with Dad. But what does that entail? And does it mean commuting to Loady?

That’s funny. I said to wife that he and Rex act exactly the same.

This is an aspect of Los Angeles that is quite steeped in Illtown:

During the local broadcast of the Kings/Lakers pre-season game, the commentator said, “Where is Rick Fox when you need him?”

    Straight Illtown.

I see that I am in your blogroll. Thanks for the link! I will reciprocate shortly, probably while I’m in my land use (policy) class, bored.
