Apparently the original release of Star Wars, and the others in the first trilogy, are going to be released on DVD. There is a release of the new version in a two disk set, but the extra features will include the cut of the films that showed in the theaters at release. I have long said that the unaltered versions were the best ones, and have been holding onto an unaltered copy on VHS for some time. I think that it is just sad what Lucas has done to his own movies, and am glad that there was finally enough sanity to release these versions. Look for them in September. I hope this comes off to plan.
