We cannot let the fact that America hasn’t been attacked in 41/2 years since September the 11th lull us into the illusion that the threats to our nation have disappeared. They have not.
Why not make the logical leap that we cannot trust those damn Japs? After all it has only been 60 some years since they attacked us. Hell, we better listen in on those bastards too.
President Bush said the U.S.-led global war on terror has “weakened and fractured” al-Qaida and allied groups, outlining as proof new details about the multinational cooperation that foiled purported terrorist plans to fly a commercial airplane into the tallest skyscraper on the West Coast.
The New York Times reports that Bush is congratulating himself for using his plan to stop other terror operations in the past. Great! Your plan works. Here is the funny part: it’s still illegal, you dumb shit-head.
Personally, I am in favor of spying. Spy it up I say. The thing I’m against is breaking the law. Spy all you need to, but just be sure to get the appropriate legal approval first. The latest person to be added to the list of scum floating to the surface is, that’s right, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. I never really had any opinion of this maggot until I saw some of the recent hearings. He kept saying that he didn’t want to speculate on the legalities of other possible spying angles. What is your fucking job, other that to speculate on legalities? What a scum-bag he is.
I don’t really mind incompetence. I kind of expect it in modern government. These people are not the best and brightest by a long shot. What I can’t stand is breaking the law, especially if you are going to be deceitful after the fact, and adopt a smug attitude about it. This whole batch of people is just worthless.
Sadly, there is no bright light around the corner. More McCarthy, fascists, and fuck-ups to come.
