In the strangest news to come out of the Blogosphere so far in this young year, Victor Charlie, of the news and humor blog Steamed Rice, was nearly gored to death while relaxing at his family home yesterday evening. The blogging luminary and doctoral student was surprised, to say the least, when a herd of longhorn cattle came out of nowhere and attacked him, catching him totally unaware.
“There was an intense fight,” said a witness to the attack, “For the first three quarters of the struggle I really thought Victor was getting the best of those longhorns, but there at the end they proved that they were a force to be reckoned with.”
Though the full extent of his injuries are unknown at this time, experts say that wounds of this nature will require time to heal physically, and therapy to handle the emotional damage.
All of us here wish Victor the quickest of recoveries, and remind him not to hook horns with cattle of any nature in the future.

Disappointed with the outcome, but no emotional damage. See upcoming post on most emotionally damaging losses (eg, NY Giants at SF 49ers, NFC Championship Game, January 1991).
