Proceeding Apace

Victor Charlie has been in town for a while now and we have gotten together for summit meetings on a couple of occasions. I have tried to convince him to act as OddJob to my Goldfinger, and we have made some process on the top-secret game. When it is all done, in 2017, it should be the single silliest thing ever created. This game has been in the process of being created for the last nineteen years or so (literally), so the foundations of it should be strong right? We don’t even really know yet how to play, or what the object of the game is. We’re getting closer. Some of the artwork is really funny, and I just hope I can do it justice in the rendering onto the computer. My skills are pretty limited, but it is fun.

I did make up the coolest t-shirt yet available from the AllGuinness Cafepress store. It features Victor’s original art on the front and the game version on the back. I plan to make this a line of shirts, because I think they are the coolest things ever. I don’t think anyone will want to buy them, but I do like looking at them. It’s not for eatin’. It’s just for lookin’ through.

Today I stumbled across this song Mangal Mangal while doing the dishes that have been piling up over the holidays. I don’t really know what is going on in this song, but I do know that whatever it is, I like it. Check out the Sound Roots site for more information on this. I suggest it.

How has your year been?

Are you looking forward to the new year? In what way?

Is New Years a natural time to set new goals, and whatnot? What are yours? What are mine?

How Many Polocks Does it Take to Rock the House?

Today I came across a Polish hip-hop group called Cmy on a site called Comfort Music. Their music is mostly instrumental, but the beats are cool, and I really like it. Very jazzy, but with enough beat and mixing to take the crappy edge off the jazz.

Check it out.

Richard Pryor died this morning. Though not unexpected, this is sad news. I should go watch Stir Crazy now.

I’m All Mashed Up on Cough Syrup Right Now

Digital Eargasm has a selection of what I believe are mash ups. Can someone explain to me the difference between a mashup and a more traditional remix? I am confused as to the nature of the difference. Either way, I find that I frequently like the result of two songs skillfully selected and prepared by someone who knows what they are doing. If they don’t, the result is frequently miserable.
